Over the years I have often subbed condensed cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken and both are great. I also serve this over rice for my daughter with an egg allergy…but I think egg noodles taste best.

Great recipe!! A keeper for sure!! I added a can of mushrooms, some dried minced onions, and ground pepper. Delicious!!

I think you should change the main photo of the recipe with only 2 tablespoons of butter instead of a whole stick. I went off prepping this recipe using the long text and photos … so I added the whole stick of butter! Your photo is very misleading since you’re using the full amounts of everything else in the photo besides the butter. Hopefully it will still turn out tasty.

Sorry about that Courtney. This recipe has been on my blog since 2016 and this is the first time that has happened that I’m aware of. The long text says 2 Tablespoons but maybe you missed that and went straight to the directions. I added some text over the butter to prevent this from happening. Thanks for letting me know.

This was really good! I added some sauteed onions and mushrooms and adjusted seasonings based on my family’s taste (extra italian seasoning) but we really enjoyed it. Next time I think I’ll add some of the pasta water to the sauce to thin it out just a tad. Overall a great base recipe to adjust based on personal taste.

Is that really 7oz of Italian or is it 0.7oz? That seems like a lot of seasoning.

Jessica – use 1 packet (.7 ounces).

I added chopped bacon and dried parsley right before serving! This is creamy and delicious comfort food at its best! Big hit with my family.

This was extremely salty. I added no salt. I wouldn’t make this again but if one were determined, use low sodium everything!

I was hungry and just got off work so I made it on the stovetop instead. I have a ton of cream of chicken from Sam's Club so I'll always be ready for tasty recipes like this! Also forgot I didn't have Italian dressing… I just dumped garlic and onion and Italian seasoning… Hope it works. I'll try it again next time I get the dry Italian mix.
